Sierra Oaks Estates sits atop a 40-acre parcel in the rolling foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in El Dorado County; the county has been home to vineyards dating back to the gold rush era. Our area in the south part of the county is known as the Fair Play wine appellation or viticultural area. The unique combination of soil and climate in Fair Play create the ideal growing environment for rich and complex world-class red wine grapes.

Climate - Our vineyards are positioned on a southwest-facing slope with warm afternoon breezes and cool mountain nights. The long growing season allows for the full development and concentration of flavors in our grapes.

Soil – Our coarse granite soils and gently sloping hillsides in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains provides the natural restraint needed to create powerful deep-rooted vines.

Varietals – We are currently producing award winning varietals of Merlot, Syrah, and Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah; as well as several exciting blends.
